Sophia and Toulouse, same technologic battle! Thus several companies on the French Riviera (as BE System, Studiel and others) own a sub-branch in Toulouse. Some companies of Toulouse are also establishing on the French Riviera. The last one was the SSII Silogic, oriented on the image and signal processing, the mobile information technology for aerospace, electronic and car industries and the tertiary sector in general, has just opened an agency in Sophia Antipolis.

Jean-Pierre Mascarelli n'a pas encore réussi le grand chelem sophipolitain. Vice-Président du Conseil général, il avait obtenu courant mai le renouvellement de son mandat de président de CAD (Côte d'Azur Développement). Un organisme de promotion économique du département dont les attributions avaient été élargies sur Sophia Antipolis (CAD a été chargé de reprendre le service communication qu'assurait auparavant la SAEM).

Bourse : Rodriguez Group bientôt au Premier Marché

Il va aussi vite que ses bateaux Open, le Rodriguez Group. Introduit sur le Second Marché de Paris en mai 1998, le groupe cannois va passer prochainement au Premier Marché. Spécialisé dans la construction de yachts de luxe et notamment de bateaux Open, Rodriguez Group a annoncé hier jeudi qu'Euronext Paris avait décidé que ses actions seraient éligibles au SRD (Service à Règlement différé) dès le 26 juin 2001. Dans la foulée, le groupe, qui ne semble pas affecté par le ralentissement économique mondial, a annoncé un carnet de commandes record à 1,15 milliard de francs.

Times are tough for alternative telecom operators. Thus, RSL Com has been put in a recovery plan. The company was weakly set up in the Alpes-Maritimes (5 people in Sophia) but the staff was wider in Marseilles and Paris (60 people). Difficulties of RSL Com are still a problem for the international airport Nice Côte d'Azur, which has allotted the market of the airport plat-form telecommunications to this company after a call for tenders.

Jean-Pierre Mascarelli didn't succeed yet the grand slam of Sophia. Vice president of the county council, he had obtained in May the renewal of its president mandate at CAD (French Riviera Development). It is an organization for the economic promotion on the county and its attributions had been extended in Sophia Antipolis (CAD was given the charge to take up the communication service the SAEM was in charge of before).

Le titre de Gemplus, introduit au premier marché de la Bourse de Paris au début décembre 2000 continue sa plongée. Hier, jeudi, il a encore perdu 7,59 %, clôturant à 3,53 euros. Un nouveau décrochage qui fait suite à un second avertissement prenant acte du ralentissement de la croissance du marché des mobiles et par contrecoup de l'activité cartes SIM qui représente la moitié de son chiffre d'affaires. La baisse du titre, par rapport à son prix d'introduction (6 euros), se monte ainsi à 41 %. Par rapport au début de l'année, la chute est encore plus sensible : 63% !
