Liberationis focusing on the air-operated car that Guy Nègre, a engine engineer will introduce the production in a factory of Carros. In an article untitled /www.liberation.fr/quotidien/semaine/20001209samza.html"> 'Le plein d'air comprimé, SVP', the daily paper is introducing a question without answer. Do we have to be sceptic for a car that works with compressed air (an old process in reality) and that nobody has really tested yet its autonomy and its speed in real conditions ? Or is it the car of the future that is going to be created in Carros?

CCI : Azur Entreprises is now a weekly

Azur Entreprises, the CCI NCA magazine (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nice Côte d'Azur) is going to be a weekly from January 2001. In the same time 70.000 copies will be issued (as against 60.000 before), what would allow to increase particularly the distribution at the Nice Côted'Azur international airport. For the moment 12.000 copies are at the disposal of passengers, the number will be up to 20.000 (40.000 other copies are distributed to the Chamber's nationals, 5.000 are placed in the Department of companies of the CCI).Until now the newspaper was issued twice in a month.

Mougins n'aura pas son multiplexe

Le projet de multiplexe (12 salles, 1.860 fauteuils et 620 places de stationnement) au nord de la ZAC Saint-Martin à Mougins ne pourra pas se faire. Faute d'avoir pu obtenir en juillet dernier l'autorisation de la commission d'équipement commercial des Alpes-Maritimes, la municipalité en avait appelé à l'échelon supérieur : la commission nationale d'équipement cinématographique. NicOx, the start-up of Sophia has made public new encouraging pre-clinical results, obtained thanks to its drug NCX-2216 for the treatment of Alzheimer's Disease. A research carried out by the University of Arizona has proved that this medicine can be efficient in moderating the neuroinflammation on animals as well as the protection of cholinergic neurons. 'The new results of Professor Wenk, as it was announced in the press release, could allow to create an efficient therapy, moderating significantly the progression of demantia in Alzheimer's Disease.

It was one of the most important meetings of the French Riviera's new economy a year ago. Start-up@Riviera was gathering project designers and invertors every first Thursday of the month along a round table followed by a very convivial cocktail. In December, the meeting wasn't on. The organizor of this 'first Thursday' of Sophia, the company Up-e, was questioned and answered that it was only postponed, and they will do their best to reschedule this meeting from January.However, Up-e has other matters to deal with at the moment.

Marc Berthod, le directeur de l'INRIA Sophia Antipolis (Institut national de la Recherche en informatique et automatique) ne changera pas de poste en janvier comme cela avait été initialement prévu et comme la nouvelle en avait circulé sur la technopole. Nommé à une fonction nationale de directeur scientifique de l'INRIA, il restera à la tête de la seconde unité française de l'INRIA (après le siège de Rocquencourt dans la région parisienne) jusqu'à la fin de l'année scolaire.
