More than 70 companies and 3.000 students are expected on March 8th at the Sophia Country Club in Sophia Antipolis for the thrid edition of an event which has become the most important one in PACA.

High-tech companies and students : that’s the big appointment on next March 8th at the Sophia Country Club in Sophia Antipolis. For the third edition, the Sophia Forum, organized famous colleges of the French Riviera, has gathered together more than fifty companies in its stand and expects more than three thousand students.Widening to the schools from NiceA few new things for the 2001 version. The group of organizing schools has spread to Nice. At the beginning, the Forum was organized by schools from Sophia Antipolis : Ceram, Essi, Esinsa, ISIA (Institut Supérieur d’Informatique et Automatique, High Institute of processing and automatics), Eurécom, IUP management and companies. This year the IUP Miage from Nice has joined. This will allow to open the event to students from the whole France who will take part to the national days of the Miage, in Nice, from March 8th to 9th.In the Sophia country club, you will find again the start-up corner which has met a lot of success last year. Among the start-ups which will come to recruit there, you will find Infobjects, Cassiopée, m.pixel, Castify Networks, Surf Design, Europe Technologies, Avisto, Stonesoft, etc. Many companies from Sophia Antipolis. The number of participating companies has strongly increased : more than 70 as against around fifty last year.An event piloted as a companyThe rising of the consultancy pole has to be noticed, with the presence of Cap Gemini, Ernst & Young, Arthur Andersen which engaged oneself for three years, Accenture and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Another rise : the one of online recruitment sites (Stepstone, Jobline, Pacajob, Cybersearch will be present) as well as recruitment offices (Randstadt, Adecco). While partner medias have also multiplied : Le Figaro économie, Transfac, Updesk, Go editions, Hobson, Libération and maybe this year Le Monde which is organizing the occupation train between March 7th and 15th.The reason for the success of the Sophia Forum is the student association which is in charge of the organization and which runs the event as a company. Presided by Rimbault Richard (Ceram), the association is composed of around thirty students coming from each partner school. The prepaation of the forum goes on all over the year. The budget is up to 500.000 francs with two main entries for the receipts : the magazine with advertisements, and the stand renting. The biggest part of expenditures is dedicated to the rental of rooms and to the setting up of stands which are provided to companies. Such an event allows students to face the high-tech labour market and companies to recruit as soon as they get out of colleges.Contactyou will find the program of the session with two big debate conferences, as well as information on the Web site : /www.essi.fr/sophiaforum"> www.essi.fr/sophiaforume-mail : sophia-forum@essi.fr and tel: 04 93 95 44 79
