A multitude of intervenors and guests around formations, investors and young rising companies for the twelfth meeting of the club on Monday December 11th at 6.30 pm.

The twelfth meeting of the Sophia Start-up Club will take place on Monday December 11th, 6.30 pm, at the Ecole Supérieure des Mines de Paris, Rue Claude Daunesse, in Sophia Antipolis. The meeting will begin with the intervention of Michel Lenci, Institut Supérieur d’Informatique et d’Automatique’s director (High Institute of Computers and Automatics). In two years, this Institute delivers an engineer degree specialized in the creation of computer processing industrial projects. Moreover, specialized formations of the Ecole des Mines de Paris profits an industrial partnership which assures both technical and financial supports for studies. Such formations allows to add both knowledges of a specific job and of an economic field to the polyvalency and the adaptability of a non-specialized engineer in order to be more efficient in the company.As the goal of the Sophia Start-up Club is to link persons with various and complementary backgrounds, the meeting will go on with the intervention of Jean-Claude Duchène, responsible of the financial ingeenering in the Banque Populaire of the French Riviera, who represents the Financière Natexis Banque Populaire and the SPEF. Such structures are present in the development, the transmission and the venture capital, by investing especially in the innovating fields.Marc Chancerel, who represents the Corporate Gemventures fund, will show his interest for new technologies and his criteria for financing. The principal fields in which the Fund invests are the wireless and the security on Internet, as well in services as in the infrastructure technologies. Thanks to the world-wide presence of Gemventures, they promote the fast expansion of partner companies on Asian, American and obviously European markets, including Sophia Antipolis.Finally, Olivier Depraz, from Sun Microsystem, will talk about the commitment of his group in start-ups. This twelfth meeting of the Club, as usual, will gather toghether people who have an answer to a specific problem, and people who are looking for one.
