The Treaty of Nice today before the Parliament
The European Treaty of Nice, which was snatched on December 11th during the last European summit in Nice, goes before the National Assembly on Tuesday June 5th. In spite of strong critics, from the right wing as well as the left wing, against this agreement which prepares the broadening of the unified Europe, it seems that the bill should be adopted without many difficulties during the solemn vote, next June 12th. Then, the Senate should pronounce late June, so that it is definitely adopted before the end of the parliamentary session. France, which was at the head of the UE during the adoption of the treaty, would be thus one the first countries to ratify it.
