Nice : Meunier Promotion buys the Palais de la Méditerranée out
The Fradim stands down. The new owner should start quickly the construction of a complex composed of a luxury hotel, a casino, a big theatre, some luxury concerns and accommodations.
At last ! An eyesore, which has been standing in the heart of the Promenade des Anglais for ten years, is going to disappear. Actually, after the sale of the hotel-casino complex project, the reconstruction of the Palais de la Méditerranée should start quickly now. Thus, on Wednesday March 14th in the evening, Meunier Promotion has signed to buy the Palais de la Méditerranée off the Fradim, via the SCI France Congrès. So, the Meunier group, which was present at the MIPIM, is going to undertake the realization of the project and the reopening of a complex closed since April 1978 ! More than twenty years. As the building certificate has been granted after all sorts of administrative incidents, the ground is now clear. By a month or two, Meunier should start the building site which should last for around two years. Since, a parking lot of more than 800 spaces has been opened late last year, what remains to build is the visible part : over three floors, a hotel-casino, a little shopping mall and luxury accommodations on Rue de France side.As for the hotel-casino part, the Meunier promotion group should sign with the Envergure group and the Concorde hotel group which is the owner of the Martinez in Cannes among others. This will be a luxury hotel (four stars) of 188 rooms with restaurants, an indoor swimming-pool and a casino of 10.000 m2 with a big theatre of 900 seats. On the Promenade's side, the complex will keep the frontage of the former building.
