Sophia: Amic will reinforce the pole of mobile electronics
After the ETSI (European telecommunication Standard Institute) and the W3C (Consortium World Wide Web), another world standardization organisation sets up in Sophia Antipolis. Amic (standardization of electronic systems for vehicles) is going to set up its Europe-Asia offices in Sophia Antipolis. This institute, whose offices are located is in Denver, USA, has been created by around twenty car manufacturers. The company aims at standardizing all the systems which can give intelligence to vehicles and particularly everything which deals with mobile Internet. Even if the Amic, which will set up in the CICA in Sophia Antipolis as soon as July, will be composed of few employees, the company, as the ETSI and the W3C, should enable the research park to be reinforce as far as the pole of mobile electronics is concerned (Mannesmann VDO, mFutureLabs, Balease, etc).
