The employers? union puts an end to the UDECA period

The Union of companies on the French Riviera changed its name to make a fresh start. The UPE06 (Union for the company) wants to be the unifier of the employers’ activity above all.

It was the UPIAM for long, (Inter-professional Employers’ union of the Alpes-Maritimes). Then, three years ago, its name was changed for the first time: the UPIAM became the UDECA (Union of companies of the French Riviera). It is a new name, which finally didn’t succeed to impose itself. All the more since rumours spread more and more about a bad understanding between the UDECA, the Medef and the CGPME.The new team, which was elected a few months ago at the head of the UDECA wished to make a fresh start. The first measure was taken on Tuesday June 26th during the special general meeting, which followed the annual general meeting at the business centre of Nice Côte d’Azur airport: a new change in the name. The UDECA then becomes the UPE06 (Union for the company). It is a generic name since some UPE in the Var and in the Bouches-du-Rhône exist among others.This change in statutes was also adopted during the same meeting to integrate the creation of the Medef06. The UPE06, with this change in statutes, becomes a federative organization of three groups, which represent the diversity of the employers’ activity: the Medef06, the CGPME and the creation of the CNC (National Business Council). The new president of the UPE06, Gérard-Louis Bosio then puts an end to the UDECA period, which doesn’t seem to leave good memories to people. It now aims at re-launching the Union with a new team, a new name and new ambitions.
