Nice European summit is threatened

Nice summit, which will be under the French presidency from December 7th to 9th, might face some clashes. First, it is a 'group of the Alpes-Maritimes for a European off-summit ' which called for a demonstration, like the one of Seattle, against globalization. The group, which gathers about twenty organizations (PCF, Verts, MRAP, Confédération paysanne, LCR, etc) announced to reach 30 000 demonstrators in Nice on December 7th and 8th. They wish to gather 'citizen forces' for individual human rights to be taken into account in order to go against a two-speed Europe.The other clash comes from the far right. The Austrian president, Joerg Haider, recently announced the 'death' of Nice summit if the sanctions against Austria were not removed before next autumn.
