Cannes : a step towards the reopening of the Palm Beach casino

The municipal council of Cannes has resumed the deliberation dated from last June, just before the hot season, a deliberation which allowed the transfer of Carlton Club games to the Palm Beach (both buildings belong to the Partouche group). As well, the council allotted 200 slot machines to the Palm Beach (that is to say they have increased fourfold the number of slot machines as the Carlton has only 50 machines). As it has not been legalized, the deliberation has come back late December before the council which has been more modest and has limited to 100 slot machines.The State representative has thought that a too important increase in the number of games should go along with a call for tenders. Cannes city, which did not share the analysis, has preferred to favour a fast reopening of the Palm Beach casino (it was scheduled for July 1999, but it did not happened) rather than starting a fight with the State about the number of slot machines…
