Gastronomy : Alain Ducasse loses one star in Monaco

There is no “three stars” left on the French Riviera. The Louis XV, owned by Alain Ducasse in Monaco, the only establishment of the Riviera ranking at the top, lost a star in the edition 2001 of the Guide Michelin (it had already lost its third star in 1997 to have it back thereafter). Nevertheless, Alain Ducasse was granted three stars for its new Parisian restaurant at the Plaza Athénée. Another establishment lost a star (La Côte Saint-Jacques owned by Jean-Michel and Michel Lorrain in Joigny, Burgundy), whereas “La Ferme de mon père” owned by Marc Veyrat in Megève, in the Alpes, enters the paradise of the three stars. In total, in France, 21 establishments are now ranking among this gastronomic list.It is worth noting again that for the French Riviera, Laurent Tarridec was granted the two stars in Saint-Tropez with Les Mouscardins. It is the only “2 stars” of the Var. Among the “one star”, two things have to be underlined: the granting of “one star” for the excellent “Cigalon” of Alain Parodi in Valbonne and the restaurant of the Grand Hôtel of the cape in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat.
