Nice : inauguration of handiweb.fr, at the handicap service

To make the Web accessible to handicapped people, that is one of the aims of the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) in Sophia Antipolis. The Handiweb company is gone even more further. With Handiweb.fr, they have realized the first portal website designed by handicapped people. This portal will be inaugurated on Friday April 20th, 6.30 pm, in the EDF-GDF Services premises, 8, bis avenue des Diable Bleus at Nice, in the presence of Jean-René Garnier, the Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, Pascal Lagarde, the manager of EDF GDF SERVICES Nice Alpes Côte d’Azur, Philippe Cantalupo, the director of Futur Information.Handiweb.fr, the greatest creation of the Handiweb company, is an Internet portal, whose principal theme is the handicap. They gather a maximum of pieces of information which allow them to make their everyday life easier, to increase their autonomy and to fight against isolation. As well, this site aims at developing a virtual community, which links handicapped people to each others and which offers services to companies and associations.
