Planning contract : consensus expected on University
The consensus for the distribution of the State-Region planning contract budgets seems to conclude. That's what can be said about the recent meeting of presidents of council of department of the PACA region (Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur) in Marseilles with the president of the Regional Council Michel Vauzelle as well as the prefect of the region, Yvon Ollivier. All in all, the global budget for the period 2000-2006 (over seven years) might be closed to 22 billion francs, since the State intends to release 7.3 billion francs and as the councils of the department and the region would give each the same amount. However, there is still one point that isn't a part of this global consensus and which is likely to be excluded from the vote of the planning contract which has to take place next March 8th during a plenary session of the Regional council : the third U3M part, University of the third millennium, is subjected to new dialogues with university presidents. Roads (1.850 billion francs), occupation and solidarity (1.24 billion francs), education (993 million francs), railroads (830 million francs, increasing by 867%), agriculture (620 million francs) are part of the biggest items of this State-Region planning contract.
