Start-down : NGSET leaves from La Gaude
On the list of start-ups closing down, there is one more : NGSET, a company which established in March 2000 near IBM in La Gaude and worked in the software sector. Its liquidation was pronounced last June 27th by the commercial court of Nanterre. Next generation Software Engineering Technologies is one of these companies from the Paris area which decided to establish in the south at the beginning of 2000. Set up in 1994, and with 24 employees recently, they were in confined conditions at Ruel-Malmaison. Hence this decision to establish research and development activities as well as the service provision in La Gaude. The proximity of IBM was all the more useful to this relocation since NGSET products and services were in the sector of IBM’s big systems. The company had created a very powerful type of “Window Explorer” allowing the user to know continuously the state of his system. There were lots of hopes for this software (35 million francs in turnover planned for 2000); but which were not sufficient to get over the crisis on the first semester 2001.
