Sophia: risks linked to climate changes
“Managing risks linked to climate changes”: this is the theme of the colloquium organized on Friday May 18th, 9.00 am, at the Sophia Country-Club, Grand Hôtel Mercure in Sophia Antipolis, by the Sophia Antipolis Foundation with the backing of the Franco-Greman association for science and technology (AFAST) and of diverse sponsors. The meeting will last until 5.30 pm and people will talk about four big themes: greenhouse effect and sustainable development; the energetic demand: what are the possibilities except fossil energy; technological solutions to reduce emissions: strategies of industrialists; policies to conduct and research of industrialists.The scientific Committee of this international colloquium will co-headed by Gérard Mégie, the president of the CNRS and Adolf Birkhofer, a Professor at the Technical University of Munich. Both of them will talk on Friday as well as Senator Pierre Laffitte (the president of the AFAST), academicians, official members of the European commission, of the United-Nations, of the CEA (Commissariat à l’énergie atomique; atomic energy commission), etc. The program and the possibility to register on www.sophia-antipolis.org.
