Sophia : NewLogic announces the Bluetooth Revolution
NewLogic is a newcomer on the technopole, on the niche of the chips for mobiles; that subsidiary of an Austrian firm, will develop a revolutionary 'Bluetooth' heart processor.
The microelectronic area is currently thriving on the technopole. Thus, after Sonics, a new firm has just come to set up on this niche. NewLogic Technologies, the subsidiary of NewLogic Consulting and Technology (Lusteneau, Austria) has announced the creation of its new centre of development in Sophia Antipolis.Fifteen people are already on the siteThe new expansion will concentrate on the development of IP blocks (Intellectual Property) for wireless technologies. The development centre, from Sophia Antipolis, will allow the Austrian firm to reinforce its position in its initial specialities : the design of circuits on request and the creation of the IP blocks. Thus, NewLogic takes advantage of the technological skills that are in the area, and it has already been hiring about fifteen people on the site.Something important : Hans-Peter Metzler, the NewLogic CEO, is always reminding that 'exceptional skills in the integrated circuit creation and IP areas, coupled with a deep knowledge of the market are two essential factors for success, for the main design and IP assembly firms'.On the wave of wirelessThe centre from Sophia, managed by Gianmaria Mazzucchelli, will work on a very new and promising technology : Bluetooth, for instance, those chips allow the fridge to interact with the hi-fi, without any wire (on a 15 metre range). The works, that have already started, are concentrated on the development of a revolutionary Bluetooth heart processor, called BOOST Core, as well as on the associated software (Bluetooth protocol battery). The team will also play a main role in the development of the future derivatives of the BOOST range and of the software. The BOOST Core mainly aims at the Bluetooth system-on-chip, that depends a lot on the markets of telecommunication, computer peripherals, and cars.Contact and information :Matthias KästnerPhone +43 5577 62000 11Fax +43 5577 62000 88Email Matthias.kastner@newlogic.atThe NewLogic Consulting & Technology company offers ASIC design services, develops and integrates IP blocks for the main firms of semiconductors and of system integrators.
