Sophia: a new association for expatriates

Adapt in France, established at the Life Centre in Garbejaire wishes to help foreign newcomers to obtain all the information necessary for practical life in France.


A new association for expatriates, Adapt in France, will hold its first duty on Thursday, April 12th, from 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM, at its office of Sophia Antipolis, at the Life Centre, Méjane Square (Garbejaire). Non-profit-making association regulated by the law of 1901, Adapt in France is dedicated to provide expatriates and foreign residents a resource centre on practical life in France. The association benefited from the support of the cities of Antibes and Valbonne Sophia Antipolis.

For the integration of its foreign newcomers, Adapt in France has an original formula. It has a resource centre and organises a series of short conferences designed to help expatriates and their families feel at home in France. The resource centre provides information both in English and French on a comprehensive range of topics related to life in France. Members of the association can consult on the spot the all information on education, law, accommodation, religion, healthcare, sports and leisures, transports (directories, books...). The centre is opened on Thursdays from 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM.

Adapt in France will also organize in May and June 12 short conferences on practical life in France and more especially on the French Riviera. Each session will last about an hour and a half and will be hold by an expert. The following subjects will be covered: insurance, banking, cultural shock, education, accommodation, social security, telephone, motoring...The first short conference will take place on Tuesday May 22nd at 10.00 AM at Adapt in France's resource centre in Sophia Antipolis. The subject dealt will be 'Transition': expatriation, the adaptation cycle.
