Sophia : hard to set up in business centers

The lack of business premises is still a problem in Sophia Antipolis, particularly for offices in business centers. Difficulties experienced by a strategy consultant to set up in the research park evidence the situation. 'There's a lack of small-sized premises in business centers', says this consultant who is seeking an office for two people, as a first stage, to work there from July. 'Some prices are very expensive. Thus, in the Green Side business center, they offered me 11 m2 for 6.000 francs before tax per month ! The other business centers of Sophia are more reasonable (around 4.000 francs for about 15 m2 in H.Q at the Espaces of Sophia or in A.B.S. at the Algorythmes). But these centers are full. I'm on the waiting list while no company has planned to leave for the moment. There's not even any notice in progress (three month notices). As for the CICA, newcomers are accepted only after their business plans have been checked. As far as the Rgus center is concerned, scheduled in Sophia, the building works should end in June-July and it might be operational only in January 2002. Maybe I will choose the solution of unfurnished renting...'
