Radio : RMC inaugurates its concept 'news-talk'
It is a new start today Monday January 22nd for RMC. The radio station of Monaco, taken over by Alain Weill (NRJ's former general manager will inaugurate its radio concept 'news-talk' (news and debate) on which they expect a lot to recover a large audience. About 200 million francs will be invested in the relaunching. Alain Weill wishes RMC to become a national radio, as Europe 1 or RTL, and erase the image of a radio of the South of France. The new management, who will employ about forty journalists, aims to give more importance to local information, and will set up stations in about ten large cities of province.RMC will have its main activity in Monaco (about fifty journalists in the new premises of Hercule harbour). There will be an office in Paris (thirty journalists) and establishments in the provinces (about thirty journalists). The new program that starts today already gives more importance to information with news every fifteen minutes and a politician invited every morning (Marc Blondel will inaugurate the new program). The reorganization of the programs will be done step by step with, next time, the presentation of the new schedule on February 6th, the complete change isn't expected before September.
