The 35 hours system is still a problem in the Principality. About 4,000 people, according to the participants in the demonstration (2,500 according to the police) took a part in the demonstration which occurred on last Thurday in the streets of the principality. Already last year, on December 1st 1999 a demonstration took place gathering together about 3,000 participants. The UMS (Monaco unions) declared it wanted to 'continue the action for social conquests in conformity with today needs and human dignity'. Some other people joined the movement.
