The masterclasses of the New Economy
The first edition that has been held in the IBM La Gaude premises between July 3rd and 5th, 2000, has been a success : there are about sixty people who are taking part to the 18 workshops, two conferences and a debate.
While they have been organized by the New Economy Club, with the support of the CCI Nice Côte d'Azur, of the CICA and of Nice Matin, the first Masterclasses have been successful. Thus, about sixty students and young sponsors will meet each others in the IBM La Gaude premises, from Monday 3rd to Wednesday 5th of July 2000. During the three days, 18 workshops are planned (see the forward programme and contacts in the masterclasses of the e-business City).Among the main events, two conferences of one hour and a debate are planned in the programme. On Monday, at 2 pm, Francis Perugini, the CCI President, will lecture on the help the CCI can bring to the start-ups; on Wednesday 5th, at 2 pm, Francesco Pettini, the coordinator of the programme called Business Innovation Centres, European Commission, will talk about 'Innovation and entrepreneurship'. The debate will take place on Tuesday July 4th, 10.30 am. It will deal with the theme 'what is new in the new economy ?', with Alain André, the CICA Director, Sophia Antipolis, and Jean-Paul Michel, the IBM Europe Deputy-Chairman; the debate will be held by Christian Poujardieu, the President of the New Economy Club.At the end of the Masterclasses, on Wednesday July 5th, at 3.30 pm, three 'Golden Olive Trees' (honorary award) will be given to the participants who will have shown an outstanding enterprise in the environment of the new economy.
