La Gaude : IBM hires for its new R&D centre
About fifty positions of managers, engineers and technicians are available at the communication research and development Centre that will explore the wireless telecommunication technology.
IBM La Gaude is setting up the new mission its parent company gave in June (see article 'IBM La Gaude : a new mission for mobiles''). The recruitment of nearly fifty engineers and technicians particularly specialized in wireless telecommunication technologies has started for this new microelectronics unit called 'Communications Research and Development Centre'. A communication research and development centre that will be part of the microelectronics department of IBM.This department (400 persons on the overall of the company) is made up with 'key-development groups of IBM's microelectronics and IBM's research, now focusing on the development of mechanisms and processes, mechanisms manufacturing, design of holders within a kit and R&D.The team in charge of the wireless telecommunication applications' development is spread on three international design centres : Boston, San Diego and La Gaude. They employ more than 250 engineers specialized in sytems, integrated circuits (Ics) and product specification.The new team of La Gaude will be in charge of focusing the advanced technology and the IBM design on development and of integrated circuits(Ics) and for wire or wireless communicationsThe wireless design centre of La Gaude will particularly devise, design and support the state of automatic send and receive RF products for the european wireless market.Positions are to fill immediately. In this way, wireless design centre managers, RF system analysts with an experience in design for wireless telephones, base stations or LAN, RF and IC engineers, as well as RF technicians are in the process of recruitment.
