Gemplus at Géménos is facing a bad situation (Le Monde)
The smart card worldwide leader is facing a bad situation. Since the listing on the stock market at the end of 2000, the leading company of Géménos (Bouches-du-Rhône) is going through a serious identity crisis together with the slowdown of the economic activity. Le Monde, in "The unrest of Gemplus" reminds the whole case. It deals with the arrival of the American investment fund, Texas Pacific Group, the current conflict between employees and their American shareholder, as well as the establishment of a new management, to replace the founder Marc Lassus and the listing on the stock market.
