Gas: a rumor provokes panic

Once again! Gasoline depots are going to be blocked again! This was the rumor which was spread on Tuesday on the Riviera. A rumor which became bigger and bigger with the passing hours. It provoked a real panic among drivers who rushed to gas stations to fill their car tanks up. Radios broadcast that the rumor was not founded but the stations were however stormed by people. Which provoked endless car queues the police controlled with difficulties, it was the case in Nice and this caused traffic jam, even late in the evening. The after-effects of the last week truck drivers' movement…The same rumor took place also in the Var and in Bouches-du-Rhône, with the same psychos effects, while also in these departments nothing was justifying such a fear. On Tuesday and even on Wednesday, some stations were listing a paper 'no gas left', but it is only because the restocking was planned to take one week. It maybe increased the fear of yesterday, and the rumor was positively refuted on yesterday evening by South Eastern prefectures.
