Delta Airlines celebrated the tenth anniversary of its airline connection between Nice and New York. Opened on November 2nd 1991, this daily connection most of the year (five weekly flights currently in low season) has transported about one million passengers since then. Carolyn Ezzell, vice-president for Delta Atlantic, estimates that with about 100,000 annual passengers, it is one of the most profitable airlines between New York and Europe. This explains then that the restructuring plan of airlines undertaken by Delta and all other American airline companies after September 11th 2001 didn't include the Nice-New York service. During the anniversary ceremony at Nice airport, the new time schedule for winter was introduced. Delta will also serve the Nice-New York market, via Paris, for flights shared with Air France, its SkyTeam partner. Considering the Nice-Atlanta airline, the project is still pending.
