Club Sophia Start-up : education, research and industry
For the 16th meeting, on Monday April 9th, 6.30 pm, at the ESSI of Sophia Antipolis, the club will tackle the theme of relationships between start-ups and research institutes. With illustrations into the bargain.
'The cooperation education, research and industry' : that's the theme of the 16th meeting of the Club Sophia Start-Up which will take place on Monday April 9th 2001 from 6.30 pm at the ESSI (Ecole Supérieure en Sciences Informatiques). On this theme they will deal with relationships between start-ups and research institutes. Jacques De Brandt, the president of the Club PERSAN, Jean-Claude Laffon, the person in charge of industrial relations at the ESSI and at the I3S of Sophia Antipolis, Jean-François Agassan, the assistant director of the CEMEF at the Ecole des Mines de Paris in Sophia Antipolis will come and bring their experience. The debates will be opened by Dominique Pouliquen, the president of the Club Sophia Start-up, Roger Marlin, the director of the ESSI and Pierre Bernhard, the director of the I3S.During this evening, Pierre Lafitte, the president of the Sophia Antipolis Foundation will tackle the question of cooperation abroad. Several German contributors will come and take part in the debate : Professor Haggenmuller, the managing Director of Association F.A.S.T.; Mr Schertler, the director of business development of United Nature; Mr Gilmozzi, the CEO of Viveon AG; Mr Norbert Rehle ,the project manager software Camus run by FAST.The 'success story' of the month will the Castify Networks' one. Presented by Jürg Nonnenmacher, the CEO and Jamel Gafsi, the manager, the Castify Networks' adventure really shows good relations that can be realized between education, research and industry. Founded by Eurécom searchers and set up in the CICA of Sophia Antipolis, Castify Networks has been launched on one of Eurécom's privileged fields : the control of networks. Positioned on broadband audiovisual diffusion on Internet, the 'company of doctors' (up to 7 or 8 computer science doctors in the team) experiences now a steady rise in popularity.
