Cannes: Sylvain Ercoli, executive officer of the Martinez
Sylvain Ercoli will be the executive officer of the Martinez in Cannes, from next October 15th. He will takeover Jean-Louis Bottigliero, 37, who wanted to be at the head of the Relais et Châteaux chain. Sylvain Ercoli, 43, has already a great experience. He has been at the head of the Ritz and of the Georges V in Paris, before he has gone to the Ocean Indian, in Mauritius, where he has been at the head of the most prestigious hotels in the island, the Touessrok and the Saint Gérant of the Sun International chain. This autodidact, who has studied at he Cornell University (New York), was since 1999 at the head of Byblos hotels in Saint-Tropez and Courchevel. There, he has been chosen for the Martinez by Franz Taittinger, the president of the group and Patrice de Margerie, the boss of the Concorde chain.Sylvain Ercoli shouldn’t last long in the palace of Cannes (turnover of 300 million, 400 rooms and 400 employees). The new executive officer of the Martinez is already said to be in the race for the head of another palace from the Riviera still in construction: the one of the Concorde group should open in June 2003 in Nice, at the Palais de la Méditerranée.
