Business tourism : Monaco is rising in popularity

Even Dario Dell'Antonia, the director of the Monegasque tourism doesn't realize the figures presented by the C.R.T. (Comité regional du tourisme, Regional comity of tourism) Riviera Côte d'Azur. Last year, the principality generated one third of business tourism on the French Riviera with 300.000 people out of the 900.000 ones coming on the Riviera. A total of more than 750 events (incentives, promotion trips, congresses, etc) took place in the Principality in 2000. The Grimaldi Forum, which opened on July 20th 2000 is only a part of it, since it really went into action only in September. Moreover, Monaco, which experienced a historical year (an occupancy rate of more than 70 %) intends to go on this rise in popularity in the very promising business tourism industry. All the more as the Grimaldi Forum is fully booked until 2002 and as bookings are already done until 2006 !
