Business : the bad results of the Nice summit
As far as business is concerned, the European summit in Nice could not have been a success, because all of the usual customers have left the downtown from December 5th to 9th, that is to say one day before the official meeting of Union leaders with many demonstrations and the fourth days of debate that have followed. Mentioned by Nice Matinin its edition of Friday December 22nd, the results set up by Unions of independents (S.D.I.) could not be good.According to this union, which declares having conducted a survey with 250 concerns in downtown Nice, during that period, the turnover decreased by 60% in this area. The most badly hit companies are obviously business or service concerns which generate the biggest part of their turnover during the holidays. Thus, the S.D.I. want the creation of a commission for indemnification in the department, not only to compensate the victims of damages created by the demonstration but also for a recognition of turnover losses.
