Amadeus bets on the Net
Of course, Amadeus has kept the option of not selling directly to the ultimate consumer, but to serve the travel professionals by putting distribution and marketing tools at their disposal. Nevertheless, as a big part of the company's research and development is located on the research park, they want to use the Net assets. Two products were already in that way : Amadeus Vista, the first browser-based front-office system in the sector with a really graphic user interface for travel agencies and Value Pricer, a research system which allows users to find the cheapest tariffs.Last week, the company added their Internet kit, Amadeus Pro Web. This is a booking tool founded on the Web technology and which allows travel agencies to serve their customers, wherever they are in the world by using the latest Internet technologies. The first interest : don't need specialized communication lines any more. As for the answering times, they have been studied so that they are the same (less than 2 seconds) as those of the traditional systems.
