Air transport: threat of strike action for return journeys
A strike notice was given for August 27th and September 1st by the unions of Air Littoral, AOM and Air Liberté, the last three air companies recently bought by Swissair and which are about to merge in October to form a new French air pole. The unions which had already launched a 48 hour-strike at the beginning of the summer, sent an open letter to the SAirGroup president (the Swissair owner-holding) to ask him to 'define the main lines of the new corporation global project, to stop immediately all the subsidiary actions and relocations pending…If there is no answer, the strike notice will be maintained. The three companies represent about one third of the whole air traffic of the Nice Côte-d'Azur airport.
