ActiVia announces a partnership with Network Appliance
The start-up of Sophia associates with the American pioneer of dedicated network devices and launches “Constellation for NetCache”, a new solution for content delivery networks.
ActiVia Networks, the start-up of Sophia from the INRIA, took the opportunity of the Narrowcast 2001 » in Paris, the European streaming show, to announce a partnership with the American Network Appliance. The French company, provider of content network solutions, and the American pioneer of dedicated network devices, listed on the Nasdaq, will offer together advanced content delivery solutions to operators and to national as well as international companies.The savoir-faire of both companies combined«The “Constellation for NetCache” solution, as announced in a press release, makes a unique solution on the market, dedicated to the most demanding clients, concerned to implement and use their own content delivery infrastructure.”It is a turnkey solution, allowing an optimised delivery of web and stream, audio and video broadband contents on the demand or directly. This solution, which combines the savoir-faire of both companies, covers all aspects necessary to implement a complete CDN.It gathers three main elements. First: a caches system of a high performance holding web and stream broadband contents. Second: a content delivery system. It covers the re-direction function which associates to each user its optimal cache and the unique function of internal delivery allowing to interconnect caches in a coherent way and thus, to increase their power.
