3GSM in Cannes : mobile phones on the French Riviera
Businessriviera.com with Opt(e)way and Atos Origin are launching a demonstration portal which will allow participants to access location-based services on their mobile phones.
Another participant of the French Riviera at the 3GSM : Businessriviera.com, the first business tourism portal ties-up with Opt[e]way which has created the opt[e]go software plat-form, and Atos Origin, in order to propose a free and premium service to the visitors of the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes from February 20th to 23rd 2001. Those who use PCs, mobile phones (SMS, WAP, GPRS), PDAs (Personal Digital Assistant) or car navigation systems, will be able to access textual or graphical location-based information. Thus, exhibitors and visitors of the GSM Congress will be able to consult pieces of information such as localisation, presentation and tariffs of hotels, restaurants, car renters, located in the Alpes-Maritimes from their mobile phones .The demonstration portal www.businessriviera.com will be presented on the opt[e]way stand (A15-G19, Hall 2). Founded on a unique concept and technology, the opt[e]go customer/server office suite aggregates geographical data enriched with static information (restaurants, parking lots, hotels) and/or dynamical one (weather reports, road traffic, etc.). Atos Origin, with its Systems Integration activity, the integrator partner of opt[e]way, has made use of its savoir-faire and its technological competences by realizing the integration of the opt[e]go software plat-form in the demonstration environment.Sooner or later, the objective is to multiply location-based information services proposed to business tourists who use mobile phones, PCs, PDAs or car navigation systems. So, the two million business tourists that go every year to the French Riviera will be able to access numerous convenient pieces of information with very few constraints.
